Southwire Job Description

The maintenance supervisor will provide leadership to the entire maintenance department with a clear vision for a value-added maintenance team with a strong focus on reliability. This individual will be responsible for supervising and leading the maintenance team in such a way that promotes a safe, positive, productive, and engaged work environment as well as encourages total employee involvement. Will supervise and or support all aspects of maintenance including, but not limited to, workforce scheduling, spare parts availability, special projects, reliability of equipment, inspection process, preventive maintenance functions, parts ordering, record keeping, etc. Must have reasonable knowledge of complex mechanical and electrical repair procedures, mechanical drive trains and components, basic electrical systems, and plant infrastructure, i.e., boilers, air compressors, and process water systems. Expected to be flexible on schedule arrangements, including weekends.

  • Line Inspections - Inspect lines that are within 2 weeks due of PM, Generate WOs, and order necessary parts
  • Parts Ordering and Kitting - Gathering ordered parts and kitting them for PM to use on PM day.
  • PM Crew Time and Attendance - Keep up with all PM crew time, scheduling, attendance, and discipline within ADP daily.
  • WO Data Mining within SAP PM - Use data within SAP PM to understand individual machine maintenance high bars to generate extra focus and work orders for PM day.
  • Recurring Parts order per machine within SAP PM Maintenance Plans - Build a list of recurring parts needs per machine per PM and get loaded to auto order within SAP PM Maintenance Plans
  • WO generation - Write all extra WOs needed from line inspection and data mining for PM
  • PM Scheduling - Make, Adjust, and Communicate PM schedule to entire plant weekly and coordinate with planning for minimal production interruption.
  • Spare Parts Review - Review parts continually ordered through 3rd party, ordered from 0101 supply and have added to supply for point of use, review new equipment for spare parts need.
  • PM Procedures - Review incoming new equipment and get recommended PM procedures from OEM or Modernization and create PM accordingly.
  • All other assigned duties


Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Can do minimum manipulation of data in excel and formula creation, calculate percentages, percent difference and understand Pareto charts at a level to train and explain to others.
