Job Location: Flexible with the location and preference would be for Melbourne or Adelaide - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements such as 9 day fortnight.

This is a fixed term opportunity till March 2027 with a possibility to be converted to a permanent position.

Role Description:

Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineer, you will develop and maintain system requirements, models and artefacts (System and Subsystem Specifications, Design Documents, Verification Plans and Procedures, Interface Specifications etc.).

You will undertake System Engineering activities in compliance with BAE Systems Engineering Lifecycle. Specifically: requirements management, functional analysis, candidate solution development, system design, system analysis, integration, system acceptance, and verification.

Core Duties:

• Perform analyses to define and characterise the system and its components
• Use domain, discipline and Systems Engineering understanding to ensure enabling, supporting and delivered products robustly and demonstrably meet their requirements and are fit for purpose
• Develop and execute system verification tests to ensure that the implemented designs conform to their specifications
• Maintain the design and its documentation in accordance with the applicable configuration management, change management and traceability plans and processes
• Provide Engineering status and metrics reporting
• Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools and techniques

Essential Skills:

• A University degree-level engineering qualification preferably within an Electronics, Software, Mechatronics, or related discipline
• Demonstrated systems engineering experience coupled with engineering experience in a relevant discipline
• Good understanding of Systems Engineering practices and Engineering methods as applied to the development of military equipment and services
• Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment with demonstrated problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously
• The applicant shall work competently in systems engineering toolsets (e.g. DOORs, CAMEO JIRA, Windchill).
• Experience in Unmanned Systems development desirable
• Knowledge of software development and certification concepts is desirable
• Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
• The applicant must be eligible to hold an Australian Government issued NV1 or higher security clearance
• The applicant must not be a US Citizen, or where the applicant is a US Citizen they must be granted an ITAR exemption by the US Department of State prior to commencing work
• INCOSE CSEP certified (desired)

The MQ-28 Ghost Bat autonomous Vehicle Management SystemTeam

We supply the autonomous Vehicle Management System (VMS) and elements of the Ground Control Station (GCS) for the monitoring and control of the MQ-28 Ghost.
