Veterinarian – Full Time or Part Time

We’re fortunate to have a well-balanced veterinary team with a broad mix of experience, which means we’re open to veterinarians at different stages of their careers and to both full-time and part-time applicants.

Brighton Veterinary Hospital is one of Australia’s newest independently owned, purpose-built veterinary hospitals, designed around exceptional patient care, Fear Free principles and creating an environment where veterinarians and nurses can do their best work.

Our hospital features dedicated canine and feline facilities, advanced surgery and dentistry, ultrasound, digital imaging, spacious treatment areas and thoughtfully designed workflows.

We’re a busy hospital, and that’s one of our greatest strengths.

There is a real pace to the day at Brighton. Our veterinarians manage a varied caseload, make decisions, keep cases moving and work together to respond to whatever the day brings. At times there is pressure to keep moving, and we don’t pretend otherwise.

What we do work hard to provide is the team and structure around you to help you manage that workload well.

We believe people should spend as much of their day as possible doing the work they’re trained to do. Our nurses genuinely nurse, and we have dedicated support staff, including a veterinary cleaner, so our clinical team isn’t routinely spending valuable time on tasks that can be done by someone else.

Our veterinarians collaborate on cases and ask for help when they need it. You’ll see a wide variety of cases, develop your clinical judgement and efficiency, and continually build your confidence and skills.

We also believe in a balanced approach to referral. We have the equipment, facilities and experience to manage the vast majority of cases in-house, while recognising when referral is in a patient’s best interests.

Because we have a veterinary team with a good balance of experience, we can consider applicants from a wide range of backgrounds.

You might be an experienced veterinarian, an early-career vet or a new graduate. We’re open to both full-time and part-time applicants, with support tailored to your experience and stage of career.

International Applicants & Sponsorship

Veterinarians requiring sponsorship are very welcome to apply, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Applicants must be eligible for full registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia (VSBSA). We are not able to support supervised practice registration.
