Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, veterinary terminology, and hands-on experience with various animal species. This role is essential in providing high-quality medical care to our patients and support to our veterinary staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosis
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor animal health and behavior, providing critical care when necessary
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients
- Conduct routine dental cleanings and understand dental terminology
- Provide proper animal restraint techniques during examinations and procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff by adhering to aseptic techniques
- Handle animals with care, demonstrating knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
Requirements
- Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal husbandry practices
- Experience with dog handling, animal catheterization, and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equine experience is a plus
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging as needed
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
