We are now looking for a VP, Compliance and Internal Audit for a fixed-term parental leave replacement until approximately the end of April 2026. The starting date of the replacement to be agreed.

In this key role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and driving Valmet’s Ethics & Compliance program across our global operations ensuring our practices align with the highest standards of integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of Valmet’s compliance programs to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies

• Plan, execute, and oversee the effectiveness of governance processes related to ethics and compliance

• Identify, assess, and prioritize compliance and related operational risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks

• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries

• Manage the design and delivery of compliance training programs to educate employees on compliance and ethical behavior

• Plan, manage, and oversee adherence regarding sanctions and related trade compliance

• Plan, manage, and oversee Valmet’s misconduct reporting process

• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

• Manage the Ethics and Compliance team

• You will report to Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Legal

Requirements:

• Master of Law or equivalent master’s degree.

• Preferably close to ten years of work experience in at least one of the E&C topics: creating an ethics & compliance culture, risk management, governance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption programs, trade or sanctions compliance, third party management, competition law compliance or misconduct reporting.

• Full professional proficiency in English. Finnish or Swedish language is a bonus.

• Readiness to travel.

• Knowledge of the requirements and legislation related to at least one the E&C topics: creating an ethics & compliance culture, risk management and mitigation, anti-bribery and anti-corruption programs, trade or sanctions compliance, third party management, competition law compliance or misconduct reporting

• High integrity and the mindset of wanting to do the right thing in both business and personal conduct

• Risk management and cultural awareness skills

• Managerial courage to identify and raise E&C risks and challenges within the Group

• Strong leadership, team management and communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as cooperating within a global organization

The position is based in Espoo or other major Valmet location in Finland.
