Warehouse Associate

NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION

• Reporting to the Supervisor, the primary responsibility of Warehouse Associate is to ensure the optimal storage, location and movement of materials in the Warehouse and Mezzanines.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITY

• Keep the work environment clean and safe at all times while optimizing space utilization of all Warehouse and Mezzanine locations.
• Perform inventory cycle counts as required.
• Accept and process incoming ‘Dock to Stock” materials.
• Assist material handlers as required.
• Assist the Production department as required in the movement, location, and return of components.
• Assist the Incoming Associate as required in the movement and location of components.
• Assist the Shipper/Receiver as required and perform Shipper/Receiver duties during absences.
• Perform Incoming Associate duties during absences.
• Follow all company safety rules, policies, procedures, ISO guidelines, and SOPs in own work and in directing direct reports.
• Report all unsafe activities, procedures, or conditions to a Supervisor, manager, Health & Safety Representative or Human Resources.
• Work with others to promote and achieve the objectives of the company in an atmosphere of co-operation and teamwork.
• Any other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Preferred High School Diploma and/or experience in a mid-sized company with warehousing and material handling skills.
• Experience in the operation of forklift truck, power-walkie and pump truck.
• ISO Quality systems experience an asset.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must be proficient in written & spoken English.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Operating knowledge of personal computer and printers.
• Must have the skills and ability to keep all lines of communication open with Supervisors, Managers, and co-workers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY

• The majority of the time will be spent in the warehouse and mezzanine areas.
• Other time will be spent in office and warehouse environments.
• A hairnet shall be worn at all times in the Assembly, Extrusion and Warehouse areas.
• Safety devices such as glasses, earplugs and safety shoes must be worn where required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• The physical requirements are standing, walking, climbing, and sitting, with 90% of working hours spent in the warehouse and mezzanine areas. This position also requires the ability to reach, grasp, bend and flex arms, legs, wrists and fingers, and should be comfortable lifting 40 – 55 lbs.

Shift Timings - 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday-Friday

Weekends availability required

Pay rate - $25.59 per hour
