The Housing Authority of the City of Old Town has an exciting opportunity for a Custodian to join its team. The Housing Authority is a dynamic organization located in Old Town, Maine. The Custodian is a key member of our maintenance team and is responsible for providing custodial services within our portfolio of properties and works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Custodial tasks include maintaining the cleanliness of all common areas including but not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, washing floors, cleaning bathrooms, windows and walls.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who is self-motivated with a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities include:

· Maintaining all common areas in a clean and acceptable condition.

· Maintains neat and orderly custodial rooms and ensures all necessary cleaning supplies are stocked.

· Reports maintenance issues, deficiencies and unusual circumstances including injuries, damages and vandalism to appropriate parties,

· Maintains accurate written work, time and other records as required.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

· Equivalent of four-year high school diploma.

· Prior custodial or cleaning work experience.

· Working knowledge proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions as well as safety procedures necessary to perform duties safely and efficiently.

· Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

The Housing Authority off the City of Old Town offers a competitive salary and benefits package for this fulltime 40 hour per week position. Starting pay is $16.00-$18.00 per hour depending on experience with full health, dental, life and short term disabilty paid for the employee, MaineState Retirement offered, and 160 hours of earned benefit time annually.
