General Manager – Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Salary: Up to $80,000 + super (dependent on experience)

Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks is expanding! We’re a fast-growing, high-energy food brand serving authentic cheesesteaks in Melbourne. We are looking for a confident, outgoing and passionate General Manager to lead our team across two store locations and our food truck.

About the Role

In this leadership role, you will oversee daily operations across multiple sites, manage and motivate staff, maintain inventory and budgets, and be the personality of our brand. You’ll ensure our stores run smoothly, our customers leave smiling, and our truck stays rolling.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across two locations and a food truck
• Lead, train, and mentor staff
• Deliver an energetic, customer-focused environment
• Manage budgets, sales reporting, and expenditure
• Maintain stock levels and monitor sales performance
• Liaise with suppliers and ensure compliance with food safety & workplace standards
• Drive and maintain a manual food truck (manual licence required)
• Represent the Sparrow’s brand with confidence and enthusiasm

What We’re Looking For

• Big personality — comfortable engaging customers and leading teams
• Retail, hospitality, or food truck management experience
• Confident working in busy, high-volume environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (mandatory)
• Manual driver’s licence (able to drive a truck)

Qualifications & Experience

Preferred qualifications:

• AQF Diploma or higher (Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, Graduate Diploma)

Experience requirements:

• 1–3 years of highly relevant experience (20+ hours/week) within the last 5 years, OR
• 4+ years relevant experience (minimum 1 year within the last 5 years; remainder within the last 10 years)

A positive assessment of both qualifications and experience is required.
