• Tairawhiti, Gisborne, Fixed term ending 30th June 2026 1 FTE (80 hours per week)

About the Role

As a HR Business Partner, you will rapidly develop an understanding and awareness of the districts business, your business units, their operating environment, roles / responsibilities and HR requirements in a continuously changing environment. You will work collaboratively to meet the goals of the service in a team-based environment. You will support change management processes including drafting letters and communicating documents to the unions and the whole organisation. Provide expert advice in relation to complaints, investigations, disciplinary action, restorative processes and mediation Comfortable working with ambiguity, experienced with mediation and other resolution processes

Position Profile

About you

As a HR Business Partner, you will have drive to ensure that all managers are supported with sound human resource management principles and practices, including the below criteria

• A tertiary qualification, preferably in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology or Business Studies, and/or equivalent practical experience OR significant experience in HR practice
• Proven ability to communicate effectively; verbal and written
• Proven customer relationship skills
• 10 years plus HR Generalist
• 2 years Senior HR position
