As part of its continued growth and expansion, Zenotec are now looking to hire an IT Field Service Engineer to join the team based in Galway.
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and customer orientated IT Field Service Engineer to join our team. This position will be based in Galway. The IT Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation services for our client’s IT systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in computer hardware, software, networking, and excellent problem solving skills. This role requires the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks efficiently, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and repair services for computer hardware, software, peripherals, and networking equipment.
· Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems, operating systems, software applications, and network components.
· Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers promptly and effectively to minimise downtime and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.
· Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including system updates, patch management, and hardware inspections, to optimise performance and reliability.
· Collaborate with internal teams, including helpdesk support, IT engineers and system administrators, to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
· Provide technical guidance and support to end-users.
· Document service activities, including service reports, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details, accurately and comprehensively.
· Stay updated on emerging technologies, IT trends, and industry best practices to continuously improve technical knowledge and skills.
· Adhere to company policies and procedures.
· Maintain a professional and customer focused attitude at all times, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and building strong relationships with clients.
The Ideal Candidate:
· Valid driver’s licence.
· Experience with server administration, virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V and cloud platforms such as Azure is a plus.
· Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
· Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
· Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks efficiently, and manage time effectively to meet service deadlines and customer expectations.
· Strong technical proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, and hardware diagnostics.
· Experience implementing Server & SAN upgrades is an advantage.
· Experience with some AV products and backup.
· Experienced at working with MS Office 365, Windows Server 2012. 2016, 2019, 2022 and Windows 10 & 11.
Qualifications:
· Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar IT field service engineer role.
· Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are desirable.
