Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in the hospitality industry? The Spice Curry Kitchen operating under Aayan S.K Limited is seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our team. This role involves both kitchen and dining area responsibilities, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.
Location: Nelson
No. of Positions: 1
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly, escort them to their tables, and present menus while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take and serve food and beverage orders promptly, ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
- Assist in food preparation, including assembling ingredients, making salads, sandwiches, and simple food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas, dining spaces, and serving stations, including floors, tables, and utensils.
- Wash and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, and general kitchen tools to support smooth kitchen operations.
- Set up tables with proper utensils, napkins, and condiments, and clear them promptly after use.
- Transfer, weigh, and check supplies, ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are well-stocked.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, or complaints professionally and courteously.
- Pack food and beverage trays for serving and assist in handling takeaway orders.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Key Requirements:
- Qualification/ Work experience: Candidate should have either of the below:
- at least one year of work experience OR
- NZQF Certificate or Diploma
- Must be available for the split shift depending upon the workload.
- A hardworking and reliable team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Good hygiene and food safety awareness.
- Strong communication and customer service skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $29.66 – $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.00 – 60.00 per week
Schedule:
- Rotating roster
- Shift work
- Weekend availability
