Reports to: Working Foreman

Rate of Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

We are experienced general contractors, serving our community through a variety of residential housing projects including legal Second Suites, modular housing, social impact projects, and renovations of all types. These projects allow us to teach and train the next generation of skilled tradespeople through our pre-employment training program, giving them paid hands-on learning opportunities in construction.

Job Summary

The Lead Hand works under the general direction of the site foreman. They perform general labour renovation duties assigned to them with efficiency and oversee labourers assigned to them.

Responsibilities

• Various interior or exterior construction related tasks at any point in construction process, including:
• Demolition & Cleanup;
• Concrete Work;
• Framing;
• Insulation & Drywall;
• Painting & Staining;
• Tile & Flooring;
• Trim & Doors;
• Exterior Finishes (windows, siding, roofing, soffit, fascia, eaves).
• General labour
• Basic understanding ONLY of plumbing, electrical, heating.
• Work with team to accomplish daily project goals
• Engage with trainees to provide comprehensive mentorship, training, and encouragement throughout their learning journey.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in residential construction
• Experience in drywalling a huge asset
• Full G license and reliable transportation preferred
• Positive attitude and good work ethic
• Steel toe boots/shoes
• Ability to lead a small team
• Enjoys teaching
• Good people and time management skills
• Ability to perform and produce quality work
• Can lift over 50lbs
