Site Maintenance Planner
Role Purpose
The Site Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating and continuously improving the planned maintenance function. The role will ensure maintenance activities are effectively planned, scheduled and monitored to maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support operational efficiency.
You will work closely with all relevant departments to coordinate preventative maintenance programmes, manage the Maintenance Management System and support capital and continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programmes, ensuring maintenance activities are effectively planned and scheduled to maximise equipment reliability, operational efficiency and production uptime.
- Produce and manage weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and Operations teams, ensuring planned maintenance is completed with minimal disruption to production.
- Coordinate statutory inspections, servicing schedules and planned activities.
- Prioritise maintenance activities in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and Operations, balancing planned maintenance with reactive requirements to minimise downtime.
- Maintain and continuously develop the Maintenance Management System (Lemon Logic), ensuring work orders, asset information, maintenance records and performance data remain accurate and up to date.
- Monitor maintenance performance through agreed KPIs, analysing preventative maintenance compliance, equipment reliability, downtime trends and engineering performance, providing regular reports and recommendations.
- Maintain the asset register and support equipment lifecycle planning, replacement programmes and capital investment projects.
- Assist in coordinating engineering resources, contractors and specialist service providers to ensure work is planned, completed safely and delivered to the required standard.
- Work closely with the Stores function to ensure appropriate stock levels of engineering spare parts and critical components are maintained.
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering, maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance planning, maintenance performance, operational efficiency and equipment reliability through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the implementation of Group maintenance standards, procedures and best practices, working with all relevant parties to ensure consistency where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with all relevant departments and stakeholders to support effective operations.
- Ensure all maintenance planning activities comply with Company procedures, Health & Safety legislation, environmental standards and statutory requirements, supporting internal and external audits as required.
- Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, planning documentation and reporting systems to support compliance and operational excellence.
- Identify operational risks relating to plant and equipment and recommend preventative actions to minimise business disruption.
- Assist in monitoring maintenance expenditure, contractor costs and engineering resources, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, maintenance planning methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering performance.
- Provide maintenance reports and planning information as required to support Maintenance performance reviews and improvement initiatives.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Company.
Requirements
- Relevant planning qualification
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Planning or Maintenance Coordination role within a fast-paced manufacturing, industrial laundry, food processing or similar production environment.
- Strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles and experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ideally Lemon Logic or similar.
- Excellent planning, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage maintenance schedules, monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and engineering compliance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, with the ability to build effective working relationships across engineering and operational teams.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and contribute to operational excellence.
- Experience supporting capital projects, equipment installations and asset management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) principles.
