Job Description:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Systems Coordinator to streamline the flow of technical documentation, coordinate with vendors, and ensure the manufacturing of SWITCHBACK components meets the highest quality and compliance standards.
This role bridges design and manufacturing, providing technical oversight, process optimization, and quality assurance for our cutting-edge systems. With opportunities for travel, site scoping, installation, and commissioning, this role offers a chance to make a tangible impact on innovative ride projects worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation and Process Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain business systems to manage the flow of technical documentation.
- Oversee design documentation, including reviewing, updating, and distributing files.
- Create and manage as-built Bills of Materials (BOMs) for complex systems.
Vendor Coordination:
- Act as the liaison between designers and vendors, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery.
- Facilitate the manufacturing of system elements, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Track and manage vendor performance, addressing any issues promptly.
Quality Assurance:
- Verify all manufactured components meet design specifications and QA standards.
- Conduct technical reviews of drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
- Maintain a database of QA documentation for traceability and compliance.
Systems and Process Development:
- Design and optimize processes to manage inventory, procurement, and documentation flow.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve inefficiencies in current workflows.
- Develop training materials and guidelines for process standardization.
Technical Expertise:
- Interpret and review technical drawings, ensuring they align with production capabilities.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving throughout the manufacturing process.
Site and Field Work:
- Participate in site visits for scoping, installation, and commissioning of products.
- Oversee installation and ensure systems are commissioned effectively.
- Monitor product performance in service and address any field issues.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering documentation role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
- Experience with BOM management and inventory control systems.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple vendors and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address manufacturing challenges.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing complex systems and workflows.
General:
- Willingness to travel for site visits, installation, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and technical documentation best practices.
- Familiarity with ERP systems for production planning and tracking.
- Comfortable with hands-on tasks during installations or fieldwork is a bonus.
