In this role, you’ll help amplify the values of the Catholic Diocese by creating innovative campaigns, content and communications that connect, inspire and engage. Working alongside the Communications and Marketing Manager and collaborating across our schools, parishes and community services, you’ll play a key part in sharing stories of hope and impact.
We're looking for someone with excellent written and visual communication skills, creativity and the ability to manage competing priorities.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to lead and deliver impactful marketing and communications initiatives that bring the mission of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle to life. With a focus on Parishes, Mission and Evangelisation, and the wider Diocesan community, this position plays a vital role in strengthening our voice and presence across the community.
By building strong relationships with key stakeholders and driving communications and marketing activities, the role ensures that our stories are told with clarity and with purpose. Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Experience developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and plans in a large, complex organisation.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship and customer service skills. Demonstrated capacity to develop collaborative relationships and deliver consistently high levels of client service and advice.
- Excellent communication skills – written, visual and verbal.
- Experience with editing photographs and writing, proofreading and editing written content.
- Photography skills with a good eye for content.
- Experience with social media and online content across a range of platforms.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills and capacity for multi-tasking.
- Familiarity with current marketing and communications practices and processes and awareness of emerging trends.
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or Business
- Five to seven years’ relevant work experience
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Experience with Microsoft; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop), Google Adwords and Analytics, SurveyMonkey and/ or Campaign Monitor (Desirable)
- Experience with social media management packages such as Hootsuite or Loomly (Desirable)
- CMS experience – For example: Umbraco, Squarespace, WordPress or Craft (Desirable)
