We’re Hiring: Payroll Administrator
Process. Support. Deliver.
Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team. This is a full-time permanent position responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll and benefi ts processing for all staff across the division. What You’ll Do:
● Process payroll, union dues, pension contributions, and benefi t deductions
● Ensure timely documentation of employee changes (hires, terminations, updates)
● Review and validate time and attendance entries
● Apply collective agreements and employment contracts to payroll processes
● Prepare ROEs, pension documents (LAPP), and ASEBP forms
● Reconcile monthly benefit premiums and complete government remittances
● Support year-end T4s, audit preparation, and general ledger reconciliations
● Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confi dentiality at all times
● Assist with payroll-related reporting and data analysis
● Communicate clearly with staff to resolve payroll-related inquiries
● Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll systems and workflows
What You Bring:
● Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certifi cation
● Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
● Accurate data entry and strong analytical skills
● Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities
● A collaborative, solution-focused mindset
● Commitment to confi dentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role

This position falls under the Sturgeon Public Schools General Employment Conditions (GEC). Employees in this role are eligible for a competitive and comprehensive benefi ts package, which includes:

Position Details:
● Type: Full-Time Permanent
● Hours: Full-time (1.0 FTE), 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
● Flexibility: Flexible work arrangements may be available following the successful completion of the probationary period
● Location: Central Office (Morinville, AB)
● Start Date: immediately
● Salary: $59,496 - $70,956 / year
