Description:
Daydream Island is seeking a highly organised and detail orientated Payroll Officer to join our team.

You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of our fortnightly payroll. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality will be essential in this position.

About the role

• Part-time: Approximately 2 days per week. Following the initial training period, the role offers flexibility to work remotely from home or from the island, depending on your preference.
• Review and verify rosters in the workforce management system to identify potential over, excessive hours and inefficient rostering before shifts are worked.
• Working closely with managers to resolve roster, timesheet and payroll discrepencies.
• Process payroll accurately and within required deadlines.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including leave entitlements, overtime and deductions.
• Respond to employee enquiries relating to payroll and provide professional support.
• Enter payroll data and verify the accuracy of information.
• Prepare and generate payroll reports for management review.
• Work collaboratively with HR to ensure employee information is accurately reflected in the payroll system.
• Process and reconcile PAYG Withholding, superannuation and other statutory payroll obligations.
• Complete end of month and end of year payroll reconcillations and reporting requirements.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant legislation, regulations and company policies.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may impact payroll and implement required updates.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.

Skills and Experiences:

• Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role
• Excellent knowledge of payroll processes and regulations
• Proficient in using payroll software and MS Excel
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong numerical aptitude
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
