Social Care worker (full time position)
Pay: From €55k to 65k depending on experience
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Person in Charge (PIC) to lead and manage a designated residential centre for adults with disabilities in Donegal. The successful candidate will ensure the service operates in full compliance with HIQA regulations, National Standards, and best practice in social care.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with HIQA Regulations and National Standards
- Provide effective leadership and management of the residential service
- Promote a person-centred, rights-based approach to care and support
- Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and incident management
- Lead, supervise, and support the staff team through supervision and appraisal
- Ensure policies, procedures, and audits are implemented and reviewed
- Maintain accurate records and reporting to senior management and regulators
- Act as the main point of contact with HIQA and external stakeholders
Essential Criteria
- A Level 7/8 qualification (or higher) in Social Care, Social Work, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in health or social care, with management or supervisory experience
- Holding management certificate level 6 or higher
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIQA regulations and inspection processes
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Experience working with adults with disabilities
- Ability to promote safeguarding, dignity, and independence
- Evidence of commencement of CORU application
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience as a Person in Charge or Deputy manager
- Experience preparing for or participating in HIQA inspections
- Knowledge of governance and quality assurance frameworks
- Garda Vetting (mandatory)
- Two recent professional references
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
