Job Title: GP Practice Nurse (Full-Time – 4 Days per Week)
Location: Blackpool Medical Centre, Cork
Salary: €24–€32 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role

Blackpool Medical Centre is seeking a motivated and compassionate GP Practice Nurse to join our busy and friendly primary care team in Cork. This is a full-time position structured over 4 days per week, offering an excellent work-life balance.

The successful candidate will benefit from an initial training and crossover period with our experienced Practice Nurse, who is retiring after many years of dedicated service. This provides a valuable opportunity for knowledge transfer and a smooth transition into the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a GP practice setting
• Chronic disease management (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes)
• Wound care and dressings
• Phlebotomy and immunisations (including childhood and travel vaccines)
• Cervical screening (desirable)
• Health promotion and patient education
• Assisting with minor procedures
• Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to clinical guidelines

Requirements

• Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Previous experience in general practice or primary care is highly desirable
• Experience in chronic disease management and immunisations preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in IT systems and electronic patient records
