Kelly’s Bakery is seeking an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our Production Team.

Kelly’s Bakery is a family-run business based in Wexford, specialising in the production of high-quality donuts for wholesale and retail customers. With over a century of experience, we combine traditional recipes with modern production methods to deliver products our customers know and enjoy.

This is a key role within our manufacturing operation and would suit someone with previous experience in production planning, scheduling or manufacturing coordination.

Position Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for preparing and coordinating daily production schedules across both day and night shifts.

The role involves ensuring production plans are accurate, materials and packaging are available, staffing requirements are identified and customer orders are produced and dispatched within the required timelines.

Working closely with the Production Manager and teams across Production, the Production Planner will play an important role in maintaining an efficient and well-coordinated manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Creating and maintaining daily production schedules for both day and night production teams.
• Liaising with Day and Night Shift Managers to review previous production performance and communicate upcoming production plans.
• Entering and managing production schedules through the company’s production management software.
• Maintaining accurate production batches, recipes and product information within the system.
• Ensuring production teams have clear and accurate plans for recording materials usage and production data.
• Monitoring raw material and packaging stock levels to ensure all materials required for production are available.
• Working closely with Purchasing, Accounts and Logistics to ensure customer orders are produced and dispatched within the required timelines.
• Coordinating production plans to meet customer demand while maximising manufacturing efficiency.
• Preparing and maintaining weekly production staff rosters to ensure appropriate staffing levels across all shifts.
• Identifying potential production, stock or staffing issues and escalating them promptly to the Production Manager.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives relating to production planning, scheduling, stock control and operational efficiency.
• Preparing regular production updates and reports for the Production Manager.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date production planning records.
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in production planning, production scheduling or manufacturing planning.
• Experience within food manufacturing or the bakery industry, although this is not essential.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Experience using production planning, ERP or MRP software.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across different departments.
• The ability to prioritise competing demands and adapt quickly within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Competency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• A reliable, proactive and organised approach to work.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €40,000.00 per year
