Purpose of the Position
To support the Project Management team with overall project administration including project start up, document management, tracking and diligence in ensuring key documents and processes are completed correctly.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in construction and/or project management.
Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinate project start up process including compiling project insurance, bonding, notice of project, WCB documentation, preparing project binders and project configuration in the Project Management software (Procore)
- Assist in the creation and distribution of Commitments and Change Orders
- Assist in the creation and distribution of Potential Change Orders (PCOs) for client/consultant review
- With direction from the Project Manager, compile, track and distribute RFIs and shop drawings, ensuring all logs are up-to-date
- Prepare for project meetings including developing minute meeting templates and agendas, printing and compiling documents and updating meeting minutes
- Throughout the project, collect and assemble information to be included in the Operating and Maintenance Manuals at project closeout
- Administer the occupancy process by collecting all necessary documentation for final occupancy
- Assist in applying for building permits and shut-down requests
- Track and monitor deficiencies
- Prepare closeout binders
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with subcontractors and clients
Requirements
- 2 years related construction experience in a similar role, completion of a Construction Management program or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong administrative, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Adaptable, with the ability to multi-task
- Experience with Project Management software (ideally Procore)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Project
- Legally able to work in Canada
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
