Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in property management, with a focus on customer service, conflict management, and compliance with Fair Housing regulations. The Property Manager will be responsible for maintaining property standards, managing tenant relations, and ensuring the efficient operation of all property-related activities.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of property leasing, including tenant screening, lease negotiations, and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and Section 8 requirements.
- Oversee property maintenance and facilities management to ensure high standards of living for tenants.
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi or OneSite for data entry, filing, and customer relationship management.
- Handle tenant inquiries and complaints with excellent customer service skills while employing conflict management techniques.
- Conduct regular property inspections to assess maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to property management.
- Implement sales strategies to enhance occupancy rates and promote upselling of available units or services.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to address repair requests through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administration.
- Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) properties is preferred.
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant laws and Fair Housing regulations.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience in contract management.
- Proficiency in office experience including data entry and filing systems.
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills to effectively manage tenant relationships.
