About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager we are looking for an experienced, energetic and dynamic candidate for this role. As Reception Manager you will have the ability to lead, direct and work in partnership with your team in this fast paced environment . Good computer skills and the ability to communicate fluently in English are essential for this role. Excellent customer care and interpersonal skill are also essential. You will be a professional and enthusiastic individual and have prior work experience in front office within the hotel sector. Annual Rooms budget preparation and forecasting with in house systems.

The Role:

Day to day responsibilities will include:

Responsibility for the efficient running of all front office tasks and roles ensuring highest standard of customer service provided by all team members.

Responsibility for training and development of existing and new members of staff through use of SOP's

Combine the role with reception & reservation cover - Welcoming guests to the property, providing effective check-in and check-out and operating the switchboard when required

Maintaining procedures and implementing new procedures if / when necessary

Managing reception payroll V budget

Maintain and oversee payments and invoices for reservations, group deposits and reception cashier.

Drive upselling of all departments while working closely with the hotel Sales and Marketing Manager

Dealing with guests and fellow colleagues on a constant daily basis

To deal with any guest complaints, queries and suggestions quickly and efficiently

To make sure the highest standards of customer care are met at all times and to monitor customer satisfaction regularly and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure future business

Maintain a thorough understanding of properties facilities and processes, and contribute to a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts

To provide friendly and efficient service and available at all times to assist with any queries

To assume responsibility for any issues in the absence of Senior Management and to ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times

To manage staff ensuring company policy is adhered to at all times

Use of onsite computer systems as well as email and Microsoft packages, room rate scheduling systems and also third party booking systems and engines

Other duties as required


The ideal candidate for this position:

Must have previous experience in a similar role in a hotel or at minimum 2 years senior receptionist experience

Previous PMS experience

Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service

Must be a team player with the ability to multi task

Be able to work on your own initiative.

Must be standards driven and detail orientated, with the desire to progress within the hospitality industry

Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Communicate fluently in English (written & oral).

The role will involve shift work meaning you will be required to work 5 days out of a 7 day week (weekend work also will be involved).
