SHIPPING AND RECEIVING COORDINATOR

(1st SHIFT)

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the efficient and accurate flow of materials and finished goods into and out of the facility. This role supports production schedules and customer delivery timelines by planning, coordinating, and monitoring all inbound and outbound shipments. The coordinator works closely with logistics providers, customer service, and internal departments to ensure timely, complaint, and well-documented product movement. Responsibilities include maintaining shipping schedules, resolving delivery issues, and supporting accurate inventory management - all while upholding strict food safety and quality standards. Success in this role requires strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate has experience in logistics or supply chain operations, preferably within food manufacturing or a regulated environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate Inbound and Outbound Shipments

  • Develop and maintain daily shipping and receiving schedules to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
  • Collaborate with transportation carriers and third-party logistics providers to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues.

Ensure Delivery Accuracy and Timeliness

  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure they arrive on time and in good condition.
  • Address any discrepancies or delays promptly, working with internal teams and external partners to find solutions.

Collaborating with Customer Service Teams

  • Work closely with customer service representatives to address customer inquiries and concerns regarding delivery status and issues.
  • Provide timely updates to customers about shipment status and any potential delays.

Maintain Inventory Accuracy

  • Oversee the accurate receipt and storage of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments.

Optimize Shipping Processes

  • Analyze shipping data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce errors in shipping and receiving operations.

Manage Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including bills of lading, packing lists, and inventory logs.
  • Generate reports on shipping performance and inventory levels for management review.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations, preferably in a food manufacturing or regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory control, and warehouse best practices.
  • Proficiency with ERP and WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations including GMP, HACCP, SQF, and familiarity with FDA/USDA requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with customer service, production, procurement, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage delivery schedules, resolve shipping/delivery issues, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping, inventory management, and shipment documentation.
  • Experience with carrier coordination and freight scheduling, including LTL, FTL, and refrigerated logistics.
  • Forklift certification preferred and experience operating material handling equipment safely.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperature environments (e.g., refrigerated or dry storage).
  • Flexibility to work different shifts or weekends as required to support operational needs.

PAY

Starting rate:

  • $23.22 per hour

  • 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
