The Blue Haven Collective is looking for an experienced and passionate Sommelier to join our team in the heart of Kinsale. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead in a busy, Collection including Michelin recognised restaurant which is known for exceptional food, warm hospitality and high standard of service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing all aspects of wine service throughout the Blue Haven Collective, including our Fine Dining and casual Restaurants
• Clear communications skills and ability to build a rapport with guests
• Responsible for ensuring wine orders are placed every week and stock levels are maintained
• To further develop our house wine list to reflects our high standards
• To keep up to date with menus in order to provide best options in terms of wine pairing
• Maintain and develop the wine cellar
• Ensuring the guest needs are looked after in a timely and efficient manner.
• Work with and assist the Food & Beverage Team where necessary including staff trainings and development
• Ensure Wine service standards are kept to the highest level whilst continually looking for areas to improve

The ideal candidate:

• Have a minimum Level 2 WSET Certificate in wine or equivalent.
• Have excellent knowledge of all new and old world wines.
• Have a minimum 1-2 years’ sommelier experience, ideally in a 5 star hotel
• Strong knowledge of food and wine pairings and the ability to match wines accordingly
• A passion for food and service and the ability to innovate in this area.
• Possess excellent selling techniques.
• The ability to think on your feet and adapt to change quickly
• Must be well organised.

Job Types: Full-time, Specified-purpose
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
