Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-time Surveyor for a company doing civil construction in roading and earthworks with 3 to 8 years of experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site measurement, earthwork volume calculations, and civil land surveying. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct precise site measurements using various surveying instruments and techniques
- Perform accurate earthworks volume calulations for construction and engineering projects
- Execute civil land surveying tasks, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking
- Collect, analyze, and interpret survey data to produce detailed reports and maps
- Utilize advanced surveying software and equipment to process and manage data
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project success
- Maintain accurate records of all survey activities and findings
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards throughout all surveying operations
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior surveyors and field technicians
- Stay updated on the latest surveying technologies and methodologies
Detailed Role Description
Site Measurement
As a Full-time Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting precise site measurements using a variety of surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS receivers, and laser scanners. You will need to:
- Plan and execute site visits to collect accurate measurement data
- Develop the latest practices such as utilization of drone measurements
- Set up and operate surveying equipment with precision and care
- Perform quality checks to ensure the accuracy of collected data
- Document site conditions and any factors that may affect measurements
- Coordinate with project teams to understand specific measurement requirements
Earthworks Volume Calculations
Your expertise in Volume calculations will be crucial for our construction and engineering projects. In this role, you will:
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine measurement needs
- Perform accurate quantity volume calculations for various construction materials and components
- Use specialized software to calculate and verify volume calculation measurements
- Prepare detailed volume calculation reports for project estimating and planning purposes
- Collaborate with estimators and project managers to ensure accurate cost projections
Civil Land Surveying
Your role will involve a wide range of civil land surveying tasks, including:
- Conducting boundary surveys to determine property lines and resolve disputes
- Performing topographic surveys to map terrain features and elevations
- Implementation of drone measurement practices
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of land surveying experience and the ability to build out the survey practice.
- Proven experience in land surveying and mapping.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and GIS software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites.
