Perth Environmental Inc. is looking for a Truck Dispatch and Office Administrator to join our team.
Perth Environmental provides liquid and organic waste collection, hauling, and recycling services for industrial, commercial, and food manufacturing customers across Ontario. As part of Minus Waste Solutions, the company continues to grow its operations across the province.
This is a hands-on office and dispatch support role. The successful candidate will help coordinate daily truck routes, communicate with drivers and customers, close completed routes, enter service details for billing, set up new customer accounts, and support the general administration of the office.
The position is focused on dispatch coordination, route administration, customer service, billing preparation, and keeping the office organized and running smoothly.
No two days are exactly the same. Some days may focus on driver coordination and service updates, while others may involve entering route information, preparing paperwork, helping with customer requests, or supporting the office team with administrative duties.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable working in a busy environment, and willing to jump in where needed. Training and support will be provided.
What you will do
- Assist with daily truck dispatch and driver coordination
- Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, route updates, service issues, and completed work
- Close completed routes and confirm that service details are properly recorded
- Enter route and service information required to prepare customer billing
- Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate customer information
- Assist with work orders, service tickets, paperwork, filing, and office administration
- Communicate with customers regarding service requests, scheduling, updates, and account information
- Help ensure route paperwork and service records are complete, accurate, and organized
- Support the office and operations team with day-to-day administrative tasks
What we are looking for
- Experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, waste management, environmental services, or a similar operations office environment is an asset
- Experience with route coordination, driver communication, service calls, or customer scheduling is preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working with drivers, customers, and office staff
- Good attention to detail when entering service and billing-related information
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment
- Computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Experience with dispatch, routing, billing, or customer management software is an asset
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
The right person
We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical, and organized. The ideal candidate communicates well, follows through on tasks, and is comfortable working closely with both drivers and customers.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being in the middle of the daily operations of a business and helping keep everything moving. You do not need to be an accountant or bookkeeper, but you do need to be accurate, detail-oriented, and comfortable with paperwork, systems, and customer communication.
