About Strive
Founded in 1996, Strive Together WA is a not-for-profit, for-purpose NDIS provider supporting people with disability, their families and carers across the Perth metropolitan region. We deliver person-centred services including Supported Independent Living (SIL), farm stay respite and individualised supports that promote independence, connection and wellbeing.
Strive also operates Landsdale Farm in Darch, a unique integrated community space that reflects our values of inclusion, learning and connection.
About the opportunity
We are currently seeking Disability Support Workers for permanent part-time and casual opportunities across Fremantle, Baldivis, Port Kennedy, Balga and surrounding suburbs.
Current roster needs include regular, ongoing shifts on Tuesdays and Fridays. We also have casual weekend shifts available for candidates seeking greater roster flexibility.
The available supports include community access, public transport training, social participation, daily living support, personal care, medication support and documentation. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting participants with non-verbal communication, behaviours of concern, mealtime management and complex support needs.
Experience in disability support is highly regarded, but we are also open to candidates who bring the right values, relevant training and a genuine willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver person-centred supports in line with participant goals, support plans and safety requirements.
- Assist with daily living tasks, which may include personal care, domestic duties, medication support and community access.
- Support participants to build independence, confidence and community connection.
- Maintain accurate case notes, documentation and communication records.
- Uphold participant dignity, confidentiality, choice and control.
- Build respectful working relationships with participants, families, carers and support networks.
Essential Requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate IV in Disability.
- Previous experience supporting NDIS participants in community access, in-home support or SIL accommodation.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain before commencement.
- Valid WA driver’s licence and access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to write clear and accurate case notes.
- Availability for regular Tuesday and Friday shifts, or weekend casual shifts.
- Alignment with Strive’s values, vision and purpose.
Highly regarded
- Experience supporting people with complex needs, including non-verbal communication, behaviours of concern, personal care or mealtime management.
- Experience using public transport and community-based activities as part of participant support.
Why join Strive?
- Purpose-led work with a respected, local not-for-profit provider
- Salary packaging up to $18,550 per annum
- Regular, ongoing shifts with participants in your local area
- Supportive onboarding, training and supervision
- Opportunities to build capability with clients across a range of services
- A purpose-led team focused on inclusion, dignity and participant outcomes
