Busy Memorial City area multi-physician group is currently seeking a friendly, experienced and organized bilingual Front Office Receptionist. Applicants MUST have at least 2 years similar medical office experience NOT including externship experience. Only qualified candidates will be considered.
THIS IS NOT A CLINICAL POSITION AND CLINICAL APPLICANTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Our office is located in the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical complex. Our physicians have a long established history in this area and take pride in the trust our patients and surrounding medical community have put in our group of physicians. Job Duties and Responsibilities, may include but not limited to:
- Greeting office patients and visitors
- Answering HEAVY incoming office calls and handling calls accordingly
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Collecting all patient registration and insurance data for billing purposes
- Verifying patient's insurance coverage and informing patients of any out of pocket expenses
- Registering new patients and updating existing patient demographics
- Collecting patient payments including copays, coinsurance, deductibles, outstanding balances, and additional fees as applicable
- Oversight of physician schedules to identify errors or conflicts in scheduling
- Maintaining a clean and orderly reception waiting area
- Ability to be a TEAM player
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent required
- A minimum of 2 years experience in similar physician office setting, NOT including externship experience
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to handle heavy multi-line phone system
- Friendly and professional communication skills
- Ability to identify workflow process delays/problems and drive improvements
- Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal and collaborative relationship with fellow department members and coworkers
Special Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic Medical Terminology
- Ability to create and utilize Word documents
- Computer literacy and adaptability
- Must demonstrate speed and accuracy in data entry of patient demographic and insurance information
- Bilingual skills are a must
- Athena Health software knowledge and/or previous Gastroenterology office experience a PLUS

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
